Do my solar panels produce power when the sun isn’t shining?

The amount of power your solar energy system can generate is dependent on sunlight. As a result, your solar panels will produce slightly less energy when the weather is cloudy, and of course, not when the sun is down. However, thanks to Ontario’s solar program called Net Metering, your system will send any excess energy it creates back to the electric grid in exchange for a grid credit, which you can redeem in the evenings when the sun out of sight. This whole process saves you money by reducing your energy bills.
