Canada Greener Homes Grant

Administered by Enbridge in Ontario, this federal program provides a one-time grant of up to $5,000 for eligible retrofits and renewable energy systems. Additionally, it also provides a refund of up to $600 for pre- and post-retrofit energy audits. For a typical residential solar installation, this refund covers 80% to 90% of the audit costs.

The NRCan Greener Homes Loan

Administered by Natural Resources Canada, this program offers loans up to $40,000 at 0% interest over 10 years. For most residential installations, when combined with the Greener Homes Grant, this loan is usually sufficient to cover all costs.

BetterHomes Ottawa Loan

Funded by the City of Ottawa and administered by BetterHomes, this program provides loans up to $125,000, or 10% of the MPAC value of your home at a rate of 4.25%. This loan is attached to your property, and carries over to the next owner should you sell it. An energy audit must be performed pending approval.

Enbridge Home Efficiency Grant (HER+)

Provides a one-time grant up to $5,000 towards the installation of a heat pump system. It can be used in conjunction with the Canada Greener Homes Grant. While Execon does not install heat pump systems, they are a cost- and energy-efficient solution that allows you to get the most of your solar installation.
