Are you interested in solar energy for your home or business?

The installation of residential solar systems is our bread and butter. Execon Roofing and Solar has been installing solar panel systems on residential homes for more than 11 years. We have installed over 100 systems in that time, with a mix of them being the old micro-FIT systems and the new and improved Net Metering systems. We have a multi-step process for setting up solar on your roof and we take care of everything along the way.

Our 6-step process includes; modelling and compiling data of your electrical consumption; using that data to create a 3D design of a solar system for your home; determining the best product and design to suit your needs; an application process for the Net Metering program in Ontario and other engineering needs; installation of equipment and electrical connection; finally, the commissioning of the system and monitoring setup so you can start saving money and the environment.

Net Metering is Ontario’s incentive for homeowners who want to save money by integrating their solar systems with the electrical grid. Net Metering is a billing mechanism used by Hydro Ottawa and Hydro One to allow you to produce solar energy and use it for yourself. During the summer months, the system will produce more energy than you need to use, and by doing so, you will provide the grid with electrical credits that you can use at a time when the panels are not producing energy, 365 days a year. This way during the night and winter you can use these built-up credits to reduce your electricity bill.

A bi-directional meter is installed by the electrical supplier that will read the consumption and production of your home in real-time. This allows for your monthly statement to be adjusted accordingly. Solar production will only credit the variable costs of electricity on your bill, fixed costs of being connected to the grid stay the same. Below is a simple chart of how Net Metering works in Ontario.

We have installed dozens of systems ranging from small systems with a few dozen panels to mega-projects involving hundreds of panels. We have even installed commercial systems in multiple provinces and territories. Our multi-step process is more or less the same as residential systems.

Our 6-step process includes; modelling and compiling data of your business’s electrical consumption; using that data to create a 3D design of a solar system for your business or commercial property; determining the best product and design to suit your needs; an application process for the Net Metering program in Ontario and other engineering needs; installation of equipment and electrical connection; finally, the commissioning of the system and monitoring setup so your business can start saving money and helping the environment.

Our team prides itself on installing excellent quality products on your roof to fit all budgets and needs. From laminate shingles to high-quality steel products, we are certified by the manufacturers to install all products we use and our installations exceed building code standards. We can quote from building plans and help integrate high-quality products into the scope of your new or old home.

Execon Roofing and Solar offers three types of roofing products. We can install BP shingles, which are affordable and are of good quality. For something more expensive that won’t break the bank, Execon can also install Marlakey Roofing Products. The most expensive roofing products we install are from Wakefield Bridge, but the quality is top tier. All of the roofing products we can install are of excellent quality, and any of them can meet your roofing and financial needs.

Execon Roofing and Solar is able to provide battery storage options for your home, with or even without a solar panel system. With a battery, we can dedicate critical loads like lights, fridges etc. to run even during a power outage. The battery will fill up during the day when your home is not using the electricity produced from a solar panel system if you have one, guaranteeing you energy even during blackouts.

Execon can order a variety of batteries that all vary in price and performance, but we always take care of the order and installation so you don’t have to worry about integrating a lithium-ion battery into your home or solar panel system.

One of the best battery options we have to offer is from LG. LG supplies a variety of batteries from small-scale systems up to larger battery units. LG’s reliability and performance, mixed with their relatively inexpensive product line is hard to beat. Click here to learn more about their products.
